FULL SYNOPSIS
SUNSHINE SANDS
Once a thriving family holiday resort, Sunshine Sands is now a fading seaside hotel struggling to survive. Years ago, the resort was bursting with life, music, games and unforgettable memories, run by passionate owners Peyton, Parker, Frankie and Blake alongside their energetic team. But changing times, budget holidays, and fierce competition have left the once-thriving destination nearly deserted.
As the staff battle low morale, cutbacks and increasingly unhappy guests, disaster strikes when three stern inspectors from trip-assistor.com arrive to review the hotel. If Sunshine Sands fails their inspection, the resort will be shut down for good.
At the same time, a group of lifelong friends Bo, Charlie, Robin, Leigh, Jo, Sam, Jax and Ezra return to Sunshine Sands hoping to relive the summers of their childhood. Shocked to find the resort in decline, they refuse to let the place that created their happiest memories disappear. Together, they secretly step in to help the struggling staff impress the inspectors.
What follows is a chaotic and hilarious series of mishaps involving disastrous guest games, out-of-control mini club children, a manic Zumba class, demanding restaurant guests and improvised dinner theatre. Despite everything going wrong, the friends and staff slowly rediscover what made Sunshine Sands special in the first place.
In a final attempt to save the hotel, the team stages a heartfelt “Summer Spectacular” featuring guests, children and staff all coming together in a joyful celebration of classic holiday entertainment. The performance reminds the inspectors and everyone else that Sunshine Sands is more than just a hotel, it’s a place where memories are made.
Filled with comedy, nostalgia, music and heart, Sunshine Sands is an uplifting feel-good musical!
CHARACTERS -Originally written for 30 principal roles plus optional ensemble roles for younger performers. Flexible casting allows roles to be doubled, reduced, or adapted to suit your group, with a recommended cast size of 25–45 performers.
