FULL SYNOPSIS
Promsical is a high-energy musical set in a secondary school where social cliques rule the hallways and everyone is obsessed with the upcoming Prom. Cheerleaders, jocks, geeks, goths, theatre kids, and even the youngest “Ducklings” all have strong opinions about who belongs — and who doesn’t.
As excitement for Prom builds, tensions between the different groups boil over into arguments, insults, and eventually a huge food fight in the dining hall. Furious at the students’ inability to respect one another, the Head Teacher cancels Prom entirely, declaring it will only return if the students can prove they can get along.
Forced to work together, the students slowly begin breaking down stereotypes and discovering hidden sides to each other. The sporty jocks reveal artistic passions, the geeks admit they love dancing, and the goths and cheerleaders realise they may not be so different after all. Along the way, friendships form between unlikely people and romance blossoms between Carrie and Becca, whose relationship challenges Carrie’s mother’s expectations of what a “normal” Prom should look like.
Meanwhile, the younger Ducklings become the unexpected moral heart of the story, encouraging the older students to stop judging one another and embrace acceptance.
By Prom night, the school has transformed. Old rivalries are replaced with understanding, individuality is celebrated, and the students come together to create a Prom where everyone belongs. Through music, humour, and heart, Promsical delivers a joyful message about inclusion, identity, friendship, and the importance of letting people be exactly who they are.

CHARACTERS – Originally written for 29 principal roles plus optional ensemble roles for younger performers. Flexible casting allows roles to be doubled, reduced, or adapted to suit your group, with a recommended cast size of 25–54 performers.
